Welcome to Write It! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the writeit.online website, including our AI writing tools and digital storefront marketplace (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Description of Service
Write It provides an AI-assisted text editor for authors and creators, alongside a digital marketplace where users can publish, showcase, and sell their written works.
2. User Accounts
To use certain features of the Service (such as saving stories or publishing to the marketplace), you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
3. Intellectual Property & User Content
- Your Ownership: You retain all ownership rights to the original text, stories, scripts, and content you write and publish using Write It (“User Content”).
- AI-Generated Content: The Service utilizes OpenAI to assist in generating text. You are solely responsible for reviewing and editing this content. Subject to OpenAI’s terms, you may use the AI-generated text commercially within the works you create on our platform.
- License to Write It: By publishing your work to our marketplace, you grant Write It a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and promote your User Content on our platform.
4. Marketplace and Sales
If you choose to publish and sell your work on the Write It marketplace:
- You agree that Write It acts as the platform facilitating the sale.
- You are responsible for setting the price of your digital goods.
- Revenue splits, payout schedules, and platform fees will be dictated by our current author payout policies, which will be communicated to you upon publishing.
- You must not publish any content that is illegal, infringes on the intellectual property of others, or violates our community guidelines (including hate speech, non-consensual explicit content, or dangerous material). We reserve the right to remove any content from the marketplace at our sole discretion.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
- Fees: Access to premium AI features and expanded word counts requires a paid subscription or the purchase of AI credits. All fees are stated in Canadian Dollars (CAD).
- Billing: Payments are processed securely via Stripe. By providing a payment method, you authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge the applicable fees.
- Refunds: Due to the nature of digital goods and AI generation costs, all purchases and subscription fees are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties; Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. Write It makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of the Service or the information, content, or materials included. To the full extent permissible by law, Write It disclaims all warranties. In no event shall Write It be liable for any damages arising from the use of this Service.
7. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
